An Ohio University graduate, Shannon has worked as the Director of Economic Development for Morgan County since 2005. She is a lifelong resident of Morgan County, continuing to reside here with her husband, two sons, and their dog, Molly. Shannon and her husband, also a lifelong resident of Morgan County, love the sense of community that Southeastern Ohio has to offer, and she welcomes the challenge of helping to strengthen the economy of a rural community.

Shannon has a love and passion for Morgan County, as this has always been her home. Over the last 17 years she has administered over $40 million in federal and state funding for various community improvement projects to improve Morgan County including 2 roundabouts to improve the traffic flow, the 60 N. Water Project to bring water to industries, local businesses, and to increase the infrastructure for future growth, and a project to bring public sewer to the rural Village of Chesterhill. She has volunteered for community events, helped to bolster Morgan County’s economy, and helped local citizens achieve their dream of becoming small business owners.

With a great team behind her to foster future improvement projects, a supportive community, and the willingness to drive the local economy forward, Shannon is looking forward to prospective projects. She says, “The future growth of Morgan County has never looked more promising.”

She is also responsible for coordinating Morgan County’s home rehabilitation, repair, and septic programs.

“Traci is the driving force behind our community programs that benefits our local citizens, which in turn affords them an improved quality of life.” Says Shannon Wells, Director of Economic Development. “Her dedication to the public of Morgan County, and the effort she puts forth everyday to assure our programs are ran efficiently and are in compliance with state and federal mandates, makes her an integral part of this team.”

Traci resides in Morgan County with her husband and two children, loves sports, and is the head coach of Morgan High School’s varsity volleyball team. She enjoys coming to work everyday and helping the citizens of Morgan County through all the programs that are offered through the Economic Development’s office, and she is looking forward to forthcoming projects and the future growth of Morgan County.
